call it what you want

“Aren’t you – I mean,” Seb paused, turning his gaze downcast as he asked, “Would you like to join me?”

            The tips of Seb’s black ears had a red hue and Isaac averted his gaze because the boy was too cute.  Chewing on his own lower lip, Isaac agreed, “Sure –“ I’d love to “– it sounds like fun.”

When Isaac agreed to travel with his over-the-top best friend, Daisy, he never imagined his summer would go like this.  Starting with a miscommunication that made his gender dysphoria flare, to a bully set out to make Daisy and Isaac feel as uncomfortable as possible, to an eccentric family that Isaac doesn't want to miss.  At first, Isaac is homesick, and he doesn't know if this trip was a good idea.

But then on a Monday, Isaac finds a kindred spirit with Daisy's cousin, Seb.  A boy who is obsessed with monster movies, and teaches Isaac about more than just who the king of horror movies is.  Call it what you want, but this summer is going to stay with Isaac forever.
